As part of its Application Security MythBusters Series, Cenzic interviewed Thomas Luce of Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield during the Black Hat 2009 Conference in Las Vegas. Mr. Luce is the Security Architect at this Buffalo, NY based insurance company.
When Cenzic’s Chief Marketing Officer, Mandeep Khera, asks Mr. Luce his general observation about the state of Web application security, he says there is lot of room for improvement. And this is mainly due to people’s lack of knowledge.
Mr. Luce argues that just because companies haven’t gotten hacked, they can ignore Web application security. He gives the health insurance analogy - you need to buy it, even though you haven’t died yet.
